The Lakers Car Club started with six people. Doug Stevens, Tracey Barr, Peter Sparks, Barry Yaremko, Sam and Joe Schellenberg.
It started with these guys meeting at the local Dog N’ Suds every Thursday just to talk about cars and drag racing. Originally the club was more about drag racing with ties to the Local High School Drag Club.
Fast forward to 2009, the club is no longer just a Drag Racing Club; we host one large Show ‘n Shine annually and several smaller ones year-round. We have numerous members who meet every Thursday, and have a project truck which will be raffled off once complete..
